WELCOME TO PIT RIVER HEALTH SERVICE! Pit River Health Service is directed by a five member Board of Directors, elected by Pit River Tribal members. It provides services to clients residing within the mountainous and heavily forested Tribal ancestral Boundaries; including portions of Shasta, Siskiyou, Modoc and Lassen counties. The Pit River Tribe of California's Rancherias in the operating area are as follows:
SITES The main site, Burney Indian Health Clinic, in Burney, CA offers full time health care in many fields. As a service to the community the Shasta County W.I.C. Program is also located at the site in Burney. A satellite office, the XL Ranch Reservation Clinic, is located in Alturas, CA (Modoc County) providing referral and outreach services. The principal referral facility is Mercy Medical Center Hospital in Redding, CA which approximately miles from the main clinic site. This facility offers general medicine with 169 medical/surgical, 14 ICU, 14 CCU, 19 Pedriatrics, 29 Perinatal, 5 Acute/Respiratory and 6 ICCN beds.
SERVICES Medicine - Quality medical care, including: family practice, pediatrics, obstetrics and general health & medicine. Twice a month podiatry services are offered.Service providers: 1 physician, 1 family nurse practitioner, 1 podiatrist Dental - Quality dental care.Service providers: 1 dentist, 1 dental hygientist, and RDA's. Behavioral Services Service providers: 1 LCSW, 1 certified substance abuse counselor, assisted by a Youth Activities Coordinator and a Family Service WorkerOutreach - Home health services, confidential free AIDS testing and counselingService providers: 1 Public Health Nurse, 3 CHR's Transportation & Environmental Health - Available upon request.
