The M.A.C.T. Health Board, Inc. is the governing body that operates health care facilities in the four counties of Mariposa, Amador, Calaveras, and Tuolumne. The services are available to all American Indians and their family members who live in the service area. Our services are conducted in an atmosphere that respects and supports Native American traditions, values and beliefs. The M.A.C.T. Health Board, Inc. is composed of representatives from the following organizations: American Indian Council of Mariposa, Calaveras Band of Me Wuk Indians, Chicken Ranch Rancheria, Ione Band of Miwok Indians, Jackson Band of Mi Wuk Indians, Sierra Native American Council and the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians.

Tribes and Rancherias in the operating area are:

  • Mariposa Band of Me-Wuk Indians
  • Sierra Native American Council

 

SITES

The MACT Board Inc. established the central operating program location, the Tuolumne Rural Indian Health Center in 1969. Additional licensed clinics are those operating out of Sutter Creek and Mariposa. The scope of our services has also expanded and includes medical, dental, outreach and substance abuse programs.

SERVICES

Medical - The focus of medical services is to keep our patients healthy and to care for persons with acute or chronic health problems.

Service providers: 1 physician, 1 family nurse practitioner, 2 physician's assistants, 3 RNs, 1 PHN

 

Dental - Provided by a five member dental team. All aspects of general dentistry are available. Specific treatment is determined by the professional staff based on a complete oral examination and x-rays.

Service providers: 2 dentists, 1 dental hygienist, 2 dental assistants

 

Community Outreach - Provided by the staff under the supervision of a Public Health Nurse. They work with patients at the clinics, in the patients_ homes and with other programs that provide health and social services.

Service providers: 3 CHR's, 1 public health Nurse, 2 patient transporters

 

Substance Abuse Services - Available to individuals and families. Support groups and referrals to area resources are available in addition to on-site counseling.

Service providers: 2 alcohol and drug abuse coordinators, 1 MFCC
