Health Systems Development

The health systems development Department provides clinics a broad range of training, technical assistance, clinical and ancillary support services including regulatory compliance, accreditation, patient records, pharmacy consulting, and computer management services.

Program Management

HSD provides administrative and management support services to clinics. Such support includes, but is not limited to: analysis of clinic systems; referral patterns; analysis and display of clinical, patient and cost data; utilization of services review; managed care contracting.

The department also provides technical assistance to tribes and tribal organizations planning to contract to provide health services to their constituency, as well as administrative and management support services during the planning and implementation process of clinic development and initial operation.

Pharmacy Consulting

Programs that do not have a pharmacist on staff, can expect the CRIHB pharmacist to assure compliance with state and federal regulations, provide patient medication information, assist staff in providing the right drug for the right price, and assist in developing and performing drug usage evaluations.

Nursing Services

The CRIHB nurse consultant assists clinic staff in developing more efficient clinic systems, such as patient flow, tracking systems, nursing practices, quality improvement systems, infection control systems, hazardous materials and safety programs, coordination of services and networking between clinic staff.

Health Information Management

Medical Records professionals assist and train clinic staff in maintaining patient record systems, keeping patient information confidential, forms development, quality improvement systems and meeting state and federal standards for keeping patient records.

Information Systems Management

Computer experts will assist and train clinic staff in maintaining the IHS/RPMS computer system, assist in installing computer hardware and software updates, and assisting to solve computer problems. The Staff also provides advice and technical assistance on policies and procedures related to data processing, computer software, computer equipment, telecommunications and office automation.
