ADP NATA
The California Rural Indian Health Board, Inc. (CRIHB) was awarded the Treatment/Recovery Technical Assistance (TA) and Training for the Native American Population contract by the State of California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP).
The Treatment/Recovery Technical Assistance & Training for the Native American Population contract provides 276 days of training and technical assistance, three California regional conferences, and a survey to determine the gaps in alcohol and other drugs services to Native Americans.
The purpose of this contract is to improve access to and assure the quality of alcohol and other drugs (AOD) prevention, treatment, and recovery program services for the Native population in California.
Through this contract, programs serving Native American populations can apply for shared cost or no cost technical assistance and training to reduce barriers, improve quality of services, and insure culturally-appropriate best practices. Training topics include, but are not limited to:
- Culturally Appropriate Service Delivery

Eligible applicants include AOD County Administrators, Indian Health Clinics, Indian education programs, Tribes/Reservations/Rancherias, Head Start Schools, Native American community-based organizations, and other programs serving the Native American population.
“At this time the funding for technical assistance and training consultants has been expended. However, resources are available to provide education/training materials, such as the White Bison’s “The Red Road to Recovery,” “The Truth about the Lie,” or other books relating to prevention, treatment and recovery until April 14, 2010 when the Native American Technical Assistance and Training contract ends.
Please check back with us for an update on this or other available contract services. We look forward to assisting you with your resources materials needs. Please feel free to contact us with your questions.”
