Central Valley Indian Health, Inc.20 North DeWitt COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CARE FOR AMERICAN INDIAN PEOPLE In May 1971, Central Valley Indian Health, Inc. (CVIH) was established to improve the quality and quantity of health care services to Indian people of Fresno, Madera and Kings Counties. CVIH is a PL 93-638 program that contracts with the Indian Health Service through the California Rural Indian Health Board to provide medical services in the Central Valley area. This organization is governed by a Board of Directors representing six American Indian sanctioned areas, as listed: SITES The principle office and main clinic is located in Clovis. Additional licensed clinics are in North Fork and Prather. A health station is maintained at Santa Rosa Rancheria.
Clovis Central Valley Indian Health Clinic North Fork Indian and Community Health Center Santa Rosa Rancheria Health Station Prather Central Valley Indian Health Clinic Medical - Comprehensive health care provided to American Indians: general medicine, health education, optometry, podiatry, and a women’s health program. Dental - Comprehensive services, including dental hygiene, diagnostics, and restorative services. Family Wellness and Mental Health - Family counseling, individual counseling, and substance abuse prevention. Outreach - American Indians are eligible for health education classes and immunization clinics, transportation, access to area Community Health Representatives, and area home health visits by a Public Health Nurse. Social Services - Social service workers are available at the Clovis and Prather Clinics. Legal Services - An attorney from California Indian Legal Services provides services once a month.
