Administrative Services

The California Rural Indian Health Board, Inc. (CRIHB), sanctioned by Tribal governments, is committed to the development of policies and services which will elevate, to the highest possible level, the health and social conditions of Native Americans in rural California. CRIHB accomplishes these goals through means of Program Development, Legislation and Advocacy, Financial Resource Development, Training, Technical Assistance, Shared Services, Benefits and Consensus Building. In order to meet its responsibilities, the Administration Department is the key for the facilitation of all activities within the CRIHB organization. The responsibilities of the Administration Department are to:

  • Provide effective and efficient communication coordination for all CRIHB operations.
  • Initiate and maintain corporate documents, corporate agreements, corporate files and the corporate seal.
  • Coordinate the activities of the field staff with local project offices and Tribal Health Programs.
  • Coordinate all activities for the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Legislative Committee, and Grievance Committee.
  • Serve all CRIHB departments as "a point of interpretation" for the effective use of legislation and various information resources.
  • Initiate processes for the formation of legislation, develops and prepares for final submission, all grant and contract award and modification requests.
  • Monitors and assures the timely submission of all contract and grant required reports.
  • Coordinates with the updates departments and subcontractors on all contract and grant submissions, modifications and awards.

The basis which CRIHB has most advanced the cause of Native Americans, has been the advocacy of legislation which has over time evolved into a full-time endeavor. Through passage of new 638 contracting legislation and legislation addressing the chronic under funding of California Tribal Health Programs, CRIHB has empowered Native Americans in the determination of their own destiny. The vital role Administration plays in the success of every effort which CRIHB puts forth can be seen through all aspects of the CRIHB organization.
