CTEC is a collaboration of tribal health organizations and the tribes that joined together to operate those organizations to address the need for epidemiological services for Indians in California. In the fall of 2005 CTEC began with three founding partner organizations representing 51 tribes. By the end of 2006, CTEC had 21 member tribal health organizations representing 85 tribes through the Health Data Sharing Agreements they signed:
