Once you’ve determined that you are Eligible, the next step is to get a free assessment. We have assessment sites throughout California, in both urban and rural areas. These sites are staffed by people who have dedicated their lives to helping people recover from drug and alcohol addictions. To find an assessment site near you, you can:

  • Call our toll-free hotline at (866) 350-8772

  • Call or visit any provider listed in our Provider Directory

During your assessment, you will meet with someone who cares about you and wants to help. This person will work with you to:

  • Identify what kind of drug or alcohol problem you have, and how it affects your family and life

  • Make good changes in your life by helping you to choose a facility or counselor to work with during your course of treatment

  • Understand your emotional, spiritual, and physical support needs and how these needs can be met through our program

  • Identify housing, child care, transportation, employment, and traditional and faith-based healing opportunities to help you stay in treatment

  • Find a case manager who will meet with you regularly and help you stay on the path to recovery
